A simple pic of one of our current crop of foster children. We have two girls sharing our home at the moment and this little lass is the youngest. Full of mischief, she fills our home with love and energy 💕
For the last 6 years I found my true calling in life working with teenagers with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a residential care home setting.
I absolutely love it and I’ve been honoured to touch the lives of some brave and resilient young people, one of whom is Tia aged 19.
I worked with Tia when she was 15-17 years of age and I’ve stayed in touch once she left residential care.
After an unbelievably difficult start to life caused by both parents suffering from Mental Health problems, Tia has developed into an amazing young lady who now works as a Community Outreach Worker.
This morning she took part in a debate on the Victoria Derbyshire current affairs programme on BBC2 that I put her forward for.
She was brilliant as were all the panel. I’m proud of her beyond words. Enjoy the link below on the debate if you’re interested. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03btx2m
